Roles

Brian

Male 50 - 60

The patriarch. An erudite man and a widower. He suffers from crippling agoraphobia, so he has created a comforting cocoon of sorts within his home. Often retreating with his headphones into music and banal television, he seems content to cloister himself from the real world. He’s a father, and he does his best.

Jeremy (Jay)

MALE 30’s

The quiet one. Potentially the type they made that warning about. Like his father, he’s found a certain comfort in co-habitation. An aspiring filmmaker, he’s able to go tit-for-tat with his father on academic posturing and lofty ideals, perhaps too able. He feels fundamentally misunderstood in his art and is resentful of how quickly his father comes to save the day when his younger brother messes up yet again.

Edward (TED)

Male Late 20’s

The prodigal son. A consummate hedonist with a self-destructive streak. We watch as he is unrelenting in his jabs and cruel pranks towards his family members, but there is this bitterness and perhaps a certain sorrow behind it. After all, he’s cuttingly witty, bold, and ambitious – he should have inherited the world. And yet he hasn’t and instead finds himself back at the nest.
