Directing: Bonking James Bond - by April Phillips

Charlie has featured in both leading and supporting roles at Dolphin but this is his first time in the Director’s chair. He hopes that he’s one of those ‘cool’ directors, that has great insight and attention to detail, rather than a demanding perfectionist who can’t see the wood for the trees!

Blair Purkiss

Directing: he Norse Mythology - by Don Zolidis

Blair got involved with the Dolphin Theatre 9 years ago when he performed in A Few Good Men. Since then he has been involved in other plays including Baskerville and Arsenic and Old Lace among others. He has a Diploma of Perming Arts and most reecently directed a Dark Days play at the Dolphin. He is looking forward to bringing a fun, lightheared play to the stage.

Directing: Spotlight - by Buddy Thomas

Something of a regular face at the Dolphin, this is John’s first foray into directing. He most recently appeared on stage as John Dryden in ‘Nell Gwynn’. John has been involved in a wide array of shows through Auckland ranging from ‘A Doll’s House’, ‘The Crucible’, and the previous One Act Play Festival in ‘Hidden In This Picture’.

Directing: The Hound - by HP Lovecraft, adapted by Greg Oliver Bodine

Arthur has been acting in shows around Auckland since 2008, mostly as Howick Little Theatre and Dolphin Theatre with a couple of shows with Company Theatre and Ellerslie Theatre. The Hound will be his first foray into directing. As a fan of the writings of H.P. Lovecraft Arthur was drawn to this script.

Directing: Persuasion - by Ashely J Barnard

Director Robyn Fleming has been Head of Wardrobe at Dolphin since 2008. She has filled many roles at Dolphin including bar manager, committee member and after some ‘persuasion’ from her actor son Zane, and well received feedback from her recent dark days directorialships, she has decided to take the plunge and direct a One Act Play this year.

Jacqui Harding

as Betty Robinson in Bonking James Bond

Jacqui is often involved in theatrical productions, onstage, backstage, and occasionally pyrotechnics. She was last on stage at the Dolphin, in the ACTT award winning show Moonlight and Magnolia’s, as Miss Poppenghul. This is the first time she has appeared on stage with her husband, and she hopes he’ll forgive her.

Scott Harding

as Jefferey Robinson in Bonking James Bond

Scott has been in various stage and screen productions. Most recently in the Ellerslie Theatrical Society’s 2019 One Act play season, appearing in ‘The Plan’, as Julius Caesar. Scott is thoroughly enjoying the character of Jeffrey, and the opportunity to work with a great cast, including his wife, Jacqui, who he’s sure is delighting in the opportunity to slap him on stage.

Bonking James Bond is Rob’s debut appearance at the Dolphin. He’s trained in screen acting and been involved in film and TV productions, but this is Rob’s first time treading the boards! He’s grateful to everyone for their support, and to be working alongside such a talented cast. And he’s loving the challenge of playing 007!

Lauren is new to the Dolphin, and has been cast in two of our One Act plays this season - and while the roles are very different, she’s been loving the challenge! Her character in Bonking James Bond is a lot of fun, but she found her biggest hurdle was keeping a straight face during the rehearsals.

as Narrator 1 in The Norse Mythology

Don’t be perplexed by his name, everyone just calls Saitapong ‘Win’. He’s a Kiwi-born Thai with a passion for self-expression and letting out emotions he didn’t know he had. Win is a 2nd Year Psychology student at Auckland University because he says there is not enough understanding and support for people’s mental health.

as Loki in The Norse Mythology

Shannon Geary is an emerging actress. This is Shannnon’s theatre debut. Previously she has played supporting roles in student short films and worked as an extra on sets. Shannon trains weekly with Juliet Furness where she has learnt the Meister technique which has enabled her to develop her craft.

A recurring guest on Dolphin Theatre’s stage, Isabelle is a self-professed geek with a love of fancy dresses and supernatural stories. Through Persuasion she will be fulfilling a life-long dream of donning a regency dress. Apart from theatre, Isabelle also stretches her voice acting muscles through her weekly podcast.

Hannah has spent the last five years studying and performing in Chicago and Auckland. Some of her favorite credits include; Fair Game: A Chicago Spectacle, Appalachian Dove Song, The Visit, Death for Sydney Black and Swallow the Fly. Hannah is thrilled to be making her debut at Dolphin Theatre..

as Narrator 2 in The Norse Mythology

Pam knew nothing about Norse Mythology and less about Marvel Comics until listening to her fellow cast members. She has since learned how popular the use of these myths are in present culture. Blair and Pam last worked together at Ellerslie Theatre in ‘The Witches’. In 2020 Pam played Edna (the ‘greenie) in ‘Last Legs’ at Dolphin.

An avid actor, content producer and long time audience member. Caitlin is glad to be back on the stage that sparked her enjoyment of the theatre, as she would frequent the crowd with her late grandmother. This is Caitlin’s second time treading the boards at Dolphin; Her last appearance was in 2019 as Angela in Agatha Christie’s Go Back for Murder.

No stranger to the stage, Melanie Raye is usually found singing or dancing rather than acting. She recently performed in Broadway Lights at Torbay Theatre. Her involvement in this show happened suddenly. This kind of role would normally be out of her wheelhouse, but she is dating the director, and couldn’t resist saving his ass when one of his cast members quit unexpectedly.

Rebekkah trained in Auckland and New York at Broadway Dance Centre. In 2019, Rebekkah performed with Two Hearts at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Theatre credits include work with Auckland Theatre Company on Shortland Street The Musical (featuring on the original cast recording) and Chicago.

Having acted on the Dolphin’s stage only once before, Marika is thrilled to work on this adaptation of Jane Austin’s novel, especially being a huge fan of her work. She took a break from acting to focus on school but did work backstage for Dolphin’s award winning Deathtrap.

Cassandra returns to the Dolphin stage after her award winning performances in Time Stands Still and A Dolls House. After fronting the global viral campaign as Sue the porn star this year, Cassandra is thrilled to be walking in the shoes of the refined and persuasive Lady Russell. Tony moved to New Zealand from Glasgow in 2012. His stage credits include ensemble in Les Misérables (Civic Theatre, 2019) and Mickey in Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers, amongst others. He’s also involved behind the scenes with Broadway Dreams NZ and Auckland Music Theatre. This is Tony’s first show at Dolphin Theatre.
