Glenda Pearce

Glenda Pearce

First time director at Dolphin Theatre, Glenda has directed an extensive range of productions in Northland, including “Our Town” (Wilder), “Teahouse of the August Moon” (Patrick), “Toad of Toad Hall” (Milne), and “As You Like It” (Shakespeare).  Favourite acting roles are Electra (Electra), Titania (A Midsummer Nights Dream), Alopecia (Cinderella the Panto). She has enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside the talented cast and crew of “An Inspector Calls”.

Jo Secher

Jo Secher

as Eric Birling

Jo's acting career began several years ago in Dunedin when he appeared in a production of The History Boys. Since relocating to Auckland two years ago, his acting pastime has taken something of a backseat to his professional life, but having finally got the hang of his job he is now turning his attention back to theatre. Listen carefully for his uncannily convincing English accent.

Arthur Young

Arthur Young

as Gerald Croft

Not wanting to have too long a break between plays, Arthur is back again after finishing a run of Cruise Control at Howick Little Theatre. He was last at Dolphin in Spirit Level last year.

A note on Edwardian etiquette: The best answer to the question, “What should guests at dinner talk about?” is, anything and everything, provided the talk is tinctured with tact, discretion, and discrimination.

Donna Verey

Donna Verey

as Sybil Birling

Donna was last seen at Dolphin in the title role of Lady Susan in
2017. Other Dolphin appearances include Fox On The Fairway in 2014, The Opposite Sex and An Ideal Husband. Other recent performances include Mme De Volange in Les Liasons Dangereuses and Elvira in Blythe Spirit, both with Ellerslie Theatre. She is, perhaps, starting to get a little type cast as posh sounding English characters.

Erin McCarthy

Erin McCarthy

as Daisy Renton

Erin McCarthy has been involved in several productions. A favourite role she has played being Eponine in Les Miserables. Acting has been a passion of Erin’s for many years now and she is hoping to also expand her interest into on-screen acting.

Jess Simpson

Jess Simpson

as Edna

Jess is 15 years old and a year 10 student of EGGS. She participated in Dolphin’s production of Oliver Twist as Lockup Lottie and is thrilled to play Edna, a very different character in a very different story. Jess is passionate about drama and theatre; and studies with Blakbox Drama. She does not shy away to utilise her dramatic skills in everyday situations at home and in school either.

John Palmer

John Palmer

as Inspector Goole

John has performed in a fair few productions at Dolphin since Party Piece in 2001, most recently last year in Lady Susan and Tomb with a View. Other favourite haunts are Ellerslie Theatre (The Graduate 2016, I Hate Hamlet 2014, The Dining Room 2013 & Nude with Violin 2012) and many plays at North Shore’s Company Theatre from the 1990’s to Tom Dick and Harry in 2010.

Laura Beverley

Laura Beverley

as Sheila Birling

Laura grew up between Hong Kong and New Zealand. Her first acting opportunity came at age 8, where she was approached to be in a documentary. Throughout school she did drama classes and plays. Later, completed a Photography Degree then studied Full Time at the Howard Fine Acting Studio in Australia. Recently she returned home to Auckland after living and working in LA. Acting credits include roles in films and small theatre productions.

This is Laura’s first production with the Dolphin Theatre.

Paul Norell

Paul Norell

as Arthur Birling

Paul made his debut at Dolphin in 1997 in the title role of DRACULA. Since then, he has continued to masquerade as one character or another: in the Auckland premiere of THE MOUSE TRAP (2012); THAT WOMAN! (Lawrie Henderson Cup, 2014) and, most recently, ONE MAN TWO GOVERNORS (2016). As Arthur Birling, he is reprising a role first undertaken some years ago with the now, sadly missed, Pilgrim Productions.
